How to Replace Wiper Blades?

Here are the steps to replace the wiper blades: 1. First, lift the wiper and remove it from the metal arm; 2. Then, you will find a small metal hook that clamps onto the original rubber blade for fixation. Pry up the metal hook and pull out the old wiper blade; 3. Pry open the plastic cap on one side of the wiper, install the new rubber blade, cover the plastic cap, and clamp the metal hook to secure the new blade, completing the replacement. Precautions for replacement are as follows: 1. Wiper steel strips: Do not apply excessive force to the two steel strips inside the wiper during replacement, as deformation of the steel strips may result in poor cleaning performance unless you adjust them carefully. 2. Wiper end caps: The original end caps of the wiper are very tight and difficult to remove even with scissors. It is recommended to use a more forceful method, such as cutting the old rubber blade into pieces.
Last time I replaced the wiper blade rubber myself, I first lifted the wiper arm and pressed the small clip in the middle to pull out the entire old rubber strip. I measured the length and bought the corresponding size rubber strip online for only five yuan each, which was a great deal. When installing the new rubber strip, I slowly pushed it along the groove, making sure both sides were securely clipped into the plastic fasteners. After finishing, I tested it with windshield washer fluid and found it glided very smoothly. Just a reminder, if the wiper rubber becomes hard or develops cracks, it's time to replace it—otherwise, it won't clean properly in the rain, which is dangerous. Also, remember to wipe off the dust on the wiper arm, as this can help the rubber last a few more months.
