Rotate the crankshaft to position the No. 1 cylinder at top dead center. Locate the small hole below the starter, insert the crankshaft positioning tool to secure the crankshaft. When the locating pin is inserted, the crankshaft should not rotate and there should be no play. Loosely tighten the intake and exhaust camshaft sprockets with bolts, applying slight torque without fully tightening them. Use the signal disk special tool to secure both signal disks. Tighten the chain tensioner, then firmly tighten the center bolts of the intake and exhaust camshaft sprockets. Rotate the crankshaft two full turns to ensure the timing tools are accurately installed and the timing is properly aligned.
