Last time my car key shell was cracked, and it was actually quite simple to replace it myself. First, you need to buy a shell kit online that matches your car model, which only costs a few dozen yuan. When disassembling, use a thin card to gently pry open the key gap, being careful not to apply too much force and damage the circuit board. After removing the old shell, carefully transfer the key chip, battery, and mechanical key into the new shell, making sure the battery is installed with the correct polarity. The most troublesome part is aligning the rubber button pads, which can be adjusted with tweezers. Finally, press the new shell together until you hear the snap of the clips to ensure it's securely fastened. After replacement, remember to test the lock and unlock functions to make sure they work properly. Doing it yourself saved me over a hundred yuan in repair fees, which feels quite rewarding.
