How to Replace the Fuel Filter?
1 Answers
Fuel filter replacement method is as follows: 1. Remove the vehicle key, disconnect the fuel pump fuse or power supply, remove the rear seat cushion and the cover on the fuel pump to expose the fuel pump assembly. The assembly is secured by a black retaining ring. After disconnecting the electrical connector and fuel lines on the pump, use special tools to remove this retaining ring. The fuel pump assembly can then be extracted after removing the ring. 2. Replace corresponding components on the old fuel filter with new fuel filter assembly parts. 3. Reinstall the fuel pump assembly with the new fuel filter back into the fuel tank. It's recommended to apply Vaseline on the fuel pump's sealing ring for lubrication to prevent distortion and potential fuel or vapor leaks. Then install the pump's retaining ring and tighten it to the torque specification in the service manual. Finally, reconnect the electrical connector and fuel lines, then conduct a leak test. If no leaks are found, reinstall the seat; otherwise, reseal the gasket. 4. Reinstall the replaced fuel pump assembly to its original position. Reconnect the fuel line and replace the cover to complete the process.
