The steps to replace the cabin air filter in the Tiguan L are: 1. Open the glove box cover: Locate the fixing clip on the right side of the glove box and pull it outward with force to remove the fixing clip of the glove box cover, then detach it. Squeeze both sides of the glove box towards the middle with both hands, and the glove box can be removed; 2. Locate the area where the filter is located; 3. Unscrew the two fixing screws on the foam cover plate: Remove the foam cover plate to expose the cabin air filter cover plate; 4. Remove the cabin air filter cover plate: Press the fixing clips on both sides of the cover plate with force, and the cover plate can be removed; 5. Take out the old filter and replace it with a new one: Pull the old cabin air filter outward, insert the new cabin air filter in the direction indicated by the arrow, and install the filter cover plate. The Tiguan L has a body length, width, and height of 4712mm, 1839mm, and 1673mm respectively.

Changing the air filter for the Tiguan L is actually quite simple. I've done it myself several times. First, you need to open the glove compartment on the passenger side, press the limit buckles on both sides inward with both hands, and the whole thing can be removed. After removing the glove compartment, you'll see a long cover panel. Pinch the clips at both ends and pull it outward to reveal the old air filter. It's important to note that there's an airflow direction arrow on the side of the filter. Take a photo with your phone to remember the orientation before removing it. The new filter must be inserted back in the same direction, otherwise it will affect the filtration efficiency. I recommend using an activated carbon filter and replacing it about every six months, especially when there's a strange smell when the AC is on or when the airflow weakens. Remember to wear gloves during the process, or you'll get dust from the filter all over your hands.
