How to Replace the Cabin Air Filter in a Toyota Corolla?

Locate the fixing buckle on the right side of the glove box and pull it outward firmly to remove the glove box cover's fixing buckle, allowing it to detach. The cabin air filter is located inside the engine compartment. The glove box can be easily removed, and no tools are required to replace the cabin air filter; simply unfasten the buckle. The cabin air filter in the Corolla should be replaced every 20,000 kilometers, but the replacement interval is not fixed.
Changing the air conditioning filter for a Toyota Corolla is actually quite easy. After doing it myself a few times, I got hooked. The filter is located behind the glove compartment on the passenger side. First, open the glove box and you'll see plastic stoppers on both sides—just press or push them inward with your fingers to remove the entire glove box. Inside, there's a filter cover, usually secured with clips or small screws. Loosen or flip it open to take out the old filter—dirty and clogged with dust and pollen. Buy the right replacement filter online, and don't forget to check the arrow indicating airflow direction; install it with the arrow pointing toward the rear of the car. After inserting the new filter, close the cover and reattach the glove box—that's it. The whole process takes at most 15 minutes. It's normal to feel nervous the first time, but saving on repair costs feels great. Replace it regularly every 10,000 kilometers, and you'll notice fresher air inside, better airflow from the AC, and plenty of benefits for sensitive noses. Remember, choosing an activated carbon filter works even better, and pick a sunny day to do it outside to avoid dust.
