Method for replacing the battery in the new Magotan's key: 1. Take out the spare mechanical key, then remove the silver decoration below the key; 2. Use your thumb to push firmly towards the hidden key side to remove the silver decorative cover; 3. Open the rear cover of the key and pry off the back cover; 4. Remove the old battery and replace it with a new one, then reassemble following the original steps. The Magotan is the first B-segment sedan produced and sold by FAW-Volkswagen since its establishment. In terms of body dimensions, it measures 4866mm in length, 1832mm in width, and 1464mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2812mm.

I've been driving the new Magotan for a while and have changed the key battery quite a few times. It's actually quite simple. There's usually a thin seam on the back of the key. Just use a small flat-head screwdriver or a coin to gently pry it open along the seam. Inside, you'll find a small round battery, which is the CR2032 model. Gently take it out and put in the new battery, making sure the marked side faces up. After installation, just snap the cover back on until you hear a click, and it's secure. If the battery is running low, you'll notice the unlocking distance becomes shorter or the buttons respond sluggishly—that's when it's time for a replacement. I recommend buying branded button batteries like Panasonic or Energizer; they're of better quality and last longer. During routine maintenance, it's a good idea to check the battery compartment contacts for any rust to prevent poor contact. The whole process takes no more than three minutes, and you can do it yourself without spending extra at the 4S shop.

Why does the car feel sluggish when driving?

There are several main reasons why a car may feel sluggish when driving: 1. Fuel system: The fuel system is a common source of problems in cars. Insufficient fuel entering the combustion chamber could be due to clogged fuel injectors, fuel line leaks, reduced fuel pump performance, or a blocked fuel filter. The feeling of powerlessness in the car is mainly caused by the engine suddenly not getting enough fuel. When the fuel filter is blocked, the car might not get fuel when tilted. If the fuel injectors are clogged or the fuel pump fails to deliver high-pressure fuel injection, proper fuel atomization cannot occur, leading to reduced combustion efficiency and failure to achieve the expected horsepower. 2. Intake system: For the engine to run properly, it needs both fuel and air. Otherwise, the engine cannot operate smoothly. The most common intake problems are usually related to a clogged air filter or throttle system. Issues with these small components can result in insufficient air intake. 3. Electrical system: The electrical system generates high-voltage electricity, which is supplied to the spark plugs via wires. The spark plugs ignite the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber. Therefore, the wires and spark plugs are the most likely culprits for poor ignition. Spark plugs are consumable items and need to be replaced every few tens of thousands of kilometers. As for the wires, they might also develop poor conductivity issues due to aging.

Common Sense of Driving: How to Use Turn Signals When Entering a Roundabout?

Common sense of driving regarding the use of turn signals when entering a roundabout can be explained from three aspects: 1. Turning left in a roundabout. If the vehicle needs to turn left, the left lane inside the roundabout should be selected. Since the vehicle needs to move from the outer lane to the inner lane, the left turn signal should be activated when entering the roundabout. Before exiting the roundabout, the right turn signal should be activated in advance, and after confirming safety, the vehicle should start changing lanes from the inner lane to the outer lane, then exit the roundabout. 2. Going straight in a roundabout. If the vehicle needs to go straight, the middle lane inside the roundabout should be selected. Since the vehicle does not need to change lanes after entering the roundabout, the left turn signal is not required when entering; when preparing to exit the roundabout to continue straight, since the vehicle needs to cross the right lane inside the roundabout, the right turn signal should be activated to alert other vehicles, then exit the roundabout. 3. Turning right in a roundabout. If the vehicle needs to turn right to another intersection, the right lane inside the roundabout can be selected, or the vehicle can turn right from the outer lane of the roundabout. The situation when entering the roundabout is similar to going straight, so the left turn signal is also not required; when the vehicle selects the corresponding intersection, the right turn signal should be activated in advance, and after confirming safety, the vehicle should turn right to exit the roundabout. Typically, roundabouts are set up at intersections with multiple roads. Except for vehicles turning right, all other vehicles heading to various intersections need to enter the roundabout and go around. The roundabout is generally designed with four lanes: the left lane is for left turns, the middle two lanes are for going straight, and the right lane is for turning right to exit the roundabout.

How to Determine a Car's Age?

There are several methods to determine a car's age, which include: 1. Look at the 10th digit of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), where a number indicates the year. 2. If it's a letter, 'A' represents 2010, 'B' represents 2011, and so on. 3. The VIN is a 17-character code composed of letters and numbers, also known as the 17-digit identification code, chassis number, or 17-digit number. It uniquely identifies the vehicle and can be considered the car's ID card. Below is an introduction to the codes in other positions: 1. Positions 1-3: Manufacturer, brand, and type. For passenger cars, the first three digits of the identification code are determined by the country of production, manufacturer, and vehicle category. For example, LFW refers to a truck, LFP to a passenger car, LFB to a bus, LFN to an incomplete vehicle, LFD to a spare, LFS to a special vehicle, LFT to a trailer, and LFM to a multi-purpose passenger vehicle. 2. Position 9: Check digit. The 9th digit is the actual check digit, which can only be a number from 0-9 or 'X'. It is calculated by multiplying the corresponding values of the other 16 digits by their positional weights, summing them up, and then dividing by 11 to get the remainder. If the remainder is 0-9, the remainder is the check digit; if the remainder is 10, 'X' is the check code. The purpose of the check digit is to verify the numbers, check if the VIN is correctly filled, and prevent counterfeit products. 3. Position 10: Year of manufacture. The 10th digit of the VIN alternates between numbers and letters for the year, specifically 123456789 and ABCDEFGHJKLMNPRSTVWXY.

Can I apply for ETC without a driver's license?

You can apply for ETC even without a driver's license. According to the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Application of Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) on Highways" issued by the Ministry of Transport, the required documents include the original valid ID card of the vehicle owner, the original and a copy of the vehicle registration certificate (with the page showing the most recent annual inspection stamp). If applying on behalf of someone else, the original valid ID card of the agent is also required. If applying for ETC through major bank branches, you will also need to prepare a debit or credit card from the corresponding bank. Some banks only support ETC binding with credit cards, while others may require freezing a portion of the amount as a deposit when binding ETC with a debit card. ETC deduction principles: Highways have one or more ETC lanes. Using dedicated short-range microwave communication between the on-board electronic tag installed on the vehicle's windshield and the microwave antenna in the ETC lane at the toll station, coupled with computer networking technology for backend settlement with banks, the system achieves the goal of allowing vehicles to pass through toll stations without stopping to pay tolls. All of this operates on the principle of "pass first, deduct later." Benefits of installing ETC: Time-saving: Eliminates the hassle of waiting in line. Green and eco-friendly: Promotes low-carbon travel by reducing noise and exhaust emissions since vehicles do not need to stop at toll stations. Reduced wear and tear: Saves costs by decreasing the frequency of vehicle starts and stops, lowering wear and fuel consumption. Users also enjoy a 5% discount on toll fees. Improved efficiency: ETC lanes can theoretically increase vehicle throughput by 2-3 times, making traditional ETC faster, more advanced, and more high-tech. Compared to license plate payment, ETC technology is more mature and advantageous. More policy support: The State Council's "13th Five-Year Plan for the Development of a Modern Comprehensive Transportation System" explicitly states the goal of "basically achieving interoperability of transportation smart cards in key city clusters by 2020, with a significant increase in the proportion of vehicles equipped with ETC." It also sets a target of "50% ETC usage rate for road passenger vehicles by 2020" in the main indicators of comprehensive transportation development during the "13th Five-Year Plan." More future possibilities: In addition to continuously improving the convenience of ETC installation and usage and increasing the adoption rate of ETC in passenger vehicles, efforts will be made to promote ETC usage in trucks and explore deeper integration of ETC systems with smart transportation directions such as vehicle-to-vehicle communication and vehicle-road coordination. This will provide comprehensive travel services for vehicle owners, meaning more application scenarios will support ETC. ETC usage precautions: The ETC transaction sensing range is 8 meters. If the vehicle in front stops, maintain a distance of more than 10 meters to prevent automatic sensing and payment for the vehicle in front, especially if it has a faulty ETC device or none at all. The recognized speed for ETC lane passage is 20 km/h. Driving too fast may result in failure to read the vehicle's device information and subsequent deduction failure. Unauthorized removal or movement of the OBU device, or if the ETC electronic tag falls off or becomes loose, will render the tag invalid. It can be taken to the bank where the ETC card was issued or to a highway service office for inspection. If the loosening or detachment is not due to human intervention, reactivation is sufficient. When using a debit card bound to ETC, insufficient balance may cause deduction failure. Follow the guidance of on-site staff to use the manual MTC lane and pay with cash or card. Thick windshields may cause poor sensing. This is particularly important for vehicles that have had their windshields replaced after accidents or for those with modified front windshields.
