The method to replace the battery in an MG remote is: 1. There are two screws on the back cover of the car key. Use a screwdriver to remove each screw, and then open the back cover to see the battery panel; 2. Remove the old battery and install the new one; 3. Reattach the back cover and secure the screws. The remote key utilizes the wireless remote control function of the central locking system, allowing you to unlock and lock the doors from a distance without inserting the key into the lock. Taking the MG ZS as an example: it is a compact SUV with dimensions of 4314mm in length, 1809mm in width, and 1648mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2585mm. It is equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission.

Last time I replaced the battery in my MG remote myself, it was quite simple. The CR2032 button battery can be bought at any supermarket. First, flip the remote over to the back, look for the small notch or cross-shaped screw hole, and use a thin cross-head screwdriver to pry open the casing. Be careful not to use too much force to avoid breaking the clips. Most older remotes require unscrewing, while newer ones can just be popped open. When replacing the battery, make sure the positive side is facing up; it won't work if installed backward. After replacing, test the lock button first. If the range becomes shorter, it might be due to a poorly installed seal or low-quality battery. Doing this small task yourself saves you 50 bucks in labor costs!

Girls can definitely change the battery by themselves. Just find a plastic pry tool or an old bank card, which is much safer than using metal tools and won't scratch the casing. Remember to prepare a CR2032 battery in advance. Off-brand batteries are prone to leakage, so it's recommended to buy brands like Panasonic or Sony. Sisters with long nails should be careful, as the plastic casing clips are particularly fragile. When putting it back together, you'll know it's properly in place when you hear a click. If the remote control's indicator light dims or the buttons respond slowly, it's probably time to change the battery. If you're unsure about the model, just take the old battery with you to the supermarket to buy the same one.

This job doesn't require a trip to the 4S shop at all, an experienced hand can get it done in five minutes. For keys with physical blades, remember to pop out the key blade first, otherwise you won't be able to open the casing. Press the MG logo with your thumb and push it sideways, the back cover will pop open revealing the battery compartment. Don't use tweezers to pull the battery directly, prying it out from the side with a toothpick is the safest method. After installing the new battery, don't forget to check if the rubber gasket in the key slot has shifted - last time my apprentice lost this thing and caused the key to get water damaged. Finally, press the casing firmly shut, and if the seams don't align properly, try adjusting the angle.

Prepare a Phillips screwdriver and a CR2032 battery for the operation. For the key with a shell, first pull out the metal key blade, then remove the screws on the back cover. Remember to clean the battery contacts with an alcohol swab before replacement; use an eraser to polish any oxidized or blackened areas. If the remote still doesn't work after replacing the battery, check if the spring plate has been deformed. Here's a little tip: after replacing the battery, hold down the unlock button for 30 seconds to re-sync; some older car models require this step. When reassembling the shell, snap the top part first, then press the bottom part until you hear two crisp clicks to ensure it's properly seated. Make sure the sealing strip is aligned with the slot and not pressed out of place.
