How to Replace the Battery in a New Mercedes Key?
1 Answers
First, push the logo switch upwards to remove the mechanical key, then open the key casing, pry out the old battery, and replace it with a new one. More detailed instructions are as follows: 1. Before replacement, it's best to check the battery model for the car key, which is usually specified in the vehicle's user manual. Then, select a new key battery according to the specified model. From the tail end of the key, push the logo switch upwards, and the hidden mechanical key will pop out slightly, allowing you to remove it. Still at the tail end, use the mechanical key you just removed to press against the marked position, apply a slight force, and the key casing will open. Once the casing is removed, you can see the battery positioned quite deep inside. Use any tool to slide into the gap on either side, gently pry, and the old battery can be removed. 2. After inserting the new battery, ensure the positive and negative terminals are not reversed. Then proceed with the installation steps: first insert the top end of the casing, then press firmly on the other end to complete the battery replacement. Finally, don't forget to reinsert the mechanical key.
