Steps to replace the battery in a Jeep Cherokee key: First, use a screwdriver to insert into the gap in the middle of the key and remove the remote cover, then take out the mechanical key. Inside the front end of the mechanical key, there is a fixing screw. Insert the screwdriver into the hole and turn it clockwise to completely separate the two parts of the remote. After opening, remove the battery and take out the circuit board. Replace it with a new battery and reassemble by following the reverse order of the disassembly steps. Additional information about car keys: The battery life of a car key is generally about one year. When the battery power is too low, it will affect daily locking/unlocking and the normal starting of the vehicle. Therefore, if the vehicle indicates low battery power in the key, or the remote control distance becomes shorter or less responsive, it may be due to low battery power in the key.
