The first step is to remove any protective case or key ring from the car remote key if present. Flip the car remote key to its backside, where you can see the rear cover consisting of two parts. The side with the key ring is where the battery is located beneath the rear cover. Turn the key sideways and look for any gaps, which are usually found near the key ring or on the side of the key. Use a screwdriver to gently widen the gap by moving it along the edges. Then, manually pry open the rear cover in the direction of the closure to remove it.
