How to Replace the Battery in a Changan Sedan Key?

Open the button on the car remote key, and the mechanical key will pop out at this time. With the key icon facing upwards, hold both sides of the car key with your left hand, while pressing down with your right thumb and pulling outward with both hands. Apply downward force to the right half of the car key, then use a small knife to place it in the middle of the gap and pry it apart until the car key splits into two parts. Forcefully separate the part without the pattern from the middle gap. Between the two parts is a rubber strip. Use a small knife to pry open the circular lithium battery and replace it with a new one.
I recently replaced the key battery for my Changan sedan, and it turned out to be quite simple. First, prepare a new battery, usually a CR2032 model, which is cheap and available at supermarkets or online stores. Then, locate the small gap or button on the back or side of the car key. Use a small screwdriver or coin to gently pry open the casing—be careful not to crack the plastic. Once opened, you'll see the battery slot. Remove the old battery, noting that the positive side faces upward. Insert the new battery in the same orientation, with the smooth side facing outward. Close the casing and press firmly until you hear a click. Finally, test the buttons by standing near the car to check if the unlock function responds quickly. The whole process takes just a few minutes, saving you a trip to the dealership and preventing unexpected battery failure. It's a good idea to keep a spare battery at home to avoid being stranded in a critical moment.
