How to Replace the Air Filter?

The method to replace the air filter is as follows: 1. Open the glove box, locate the fixing buckle on the right side of the glove box, and pull it outward with force; 2. Remove the fixing buckle of the glove box to detach it, then squeeze both sides of the glove box towards the middle with both hands to take it off; 3. After removing the glove box, you can see the air filter cover plate; 4. Press firmly on the fixing buckles on both sides of the cover plate to remove it; 5. Pull out the air filter, install the new filter, and restore it to its original position in the reverse order of disassembly. The functions of the air conditioning system are: 1. Drawing in fresh external air to ventilate and exchange air inside the car, preventing window fogging; 2. Removing dust, odors, smoke, and toxic gases from the car's interior air to freshen it, and humidifying the interior air to increase its relative humidity.
I just changed my cabin air filter by myself a few days ago and found the process much simpler than expected. Typically, the filter is located behind the glove box or under the front passenger seat in models like Volkswagen and Toyota. First, open the glove box, remove any items inside, then detach the clips or screws securing the glove box and gently move it aside to reveal the filter cover. Carefully lift the cover by hand, take out the old filter (note its arrow direction), and insert the new filter in the same orientation. When reinstalling, ensure the cover snaps tightly into place to prevent filter loosening. The whole process takes just 10-15 minutes and requires no tools. Doing it yourself can save hundreds in labor costs while preventing cabin dust from triggering coughs. Remember to replace the filter regularly, as degraded air quality impacts respiratory health—especially important to check before pollen season.
