To replace the air conditioning filter in Golf 6, follow these steps: 1. Open the glove box on the passenger side, press the plastic clips inside, and remove the glove box; 2. Unscrew the screws on the cover plate and remove it; 3. Take out the old air conditioning filter and replace it. The Golf 6 is a compact 5-door, 5-seat hatchback with body dimensions of 4199mm in length, 1786mm in width, 1479mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2578mm. It is equipped with a 1.6L naturally aspirated engine and a 5-speed manual transmission, delivering a maximum power of 77 kW and a maximum torque of 155 Nm.

Having driven a Golf 6 for three years, I've saved hundreds by replacing the AC filter myself. When removing the glove compartment, press the plastic panels on both sides with a bit of finesse—don't force it. The old filter was full of leaves and dust, no wonder the AC smelled earthy. The new activated carbon filter must be installed with the airflow arrow pointing the right way—insert the side with text facing the seats until it clicks softly. Reattach the glove compartment by securing the top edge first, then press the sides. The whole process takes 20 minutes, but don’t forget to clear twigs from the filter slot—last time, a small branch nearly caused blower noise.

I've watched the mechanics operate twice at the repair shop, and actually changing the filter myself is quite simple. No tools are needed, just lie down on the passenger footwell and look up. There are three mushroom-shaped clips at the bottom of the glove box; pinch the round heads and twist them 90 degrees to remove. The filter cover has a small tab; just pry it open with your fingernail and pull it out. Pay attention to the folding direction of the original filter—the new filter must be inserted with the same pattern, otherwise it will affect the airflow. When putting the cover back, make sure the three tabs on the side align with the slots, otherwise there will be gaps causing air leakage. After the replacement, test the AC and you'll notice it's significantly fresher.

What are the methods to deal with excessive carbon monoxide in car exhaust?

Clean the three-way catalytic converter. Once this component is clogged or too dirty, it will lose its ability to convert carbon monoxide. Check the dashboard for any engine warning lights. If the air-fuel ratio of the engine cannot stabilize, incomplete combustion may occur.

Drive for a while to allow the car to reach normal operating temperature, then park and turn off the engine, shutting down all electrical devices in the car. Open the car's hood, locate the battery, and disconnect the battery's power cables. Wait for 10 minutes before reconnecting, then turn on the power without starting the engine and activate the car's electrical devices, waiting for 30 seconds. What is the voltage of the ABS sensor connector?

The voltage of the ABS sensor connector is 5V to 8V, with an output voltage of 650mV to 850mV. During actual measurement, due to the fault protection function of the electronic stability control module, the voltage cannot be sustained after unplugging the ABS sensor connector, so voltage data cannot be used as a judgment criterion. The ABS sensor is an important component of the ABS system. ABS can maintain the directional stability of the vehicle during braking while driving, shorten the braking time and distance, and effectively prevent wheel lock-up and uncontrolled skidding during emergency braking, thereby enhancing the vehicle's controllability and making driving safer.
