How to Replace the Air Conditioning Filter?

The method to replace the air conditioning filter is as follows: 1. Use a flat-head screwdriver to remove the clips on both sides of the glove box and open the outer cover on the back of the glove box; 2. Use the appropriate tool to remove the damper connected to the glove box; 3. After removing the glove box, you can see the air conditioning filter housing cover inside. Pull it out and replace it with a new filter. The functions of the air conditioning filter are: 1. To provide fresh air inside the vehicle; 2. To ensure safety and hygiene in the cabin; 3. To absorb harmful substances; 4. To filter solid impurities from the air. Without the air conditioning filter, these particles can enter the cabin, polluting the car's air conditioning system, reducing the performance of the cooling system, and causing allergic reactions, lung damage, and irritation from ozone exposure in passengers, along with unpleasant odors, all of which can affect driving safety.
I often change the cabin air filter myself, and the steps are actually quite simple. First, locate the filter position, which is behind the glove compartment in most car models. Open the glove compartment and squeeze the clips on both sides to remove it completely, revealing a black plastic cover. Use a screwdriver to pry open the clips of the cover, and when pulling out the old cabin air filter, remember its installation direction. Don't rush to install the new filter—first, clean out any leaves and dust in the filter slot. When installing, pay close attention to the airflow direction arrow marked on the side of the filter; the tail of the arrow should face the front of the car for correct installation. Finally, secure the cover clips and push the glove compartment back into place. The whole process takes no more than 15 minutes. I recommend buying a dual-effect filter with activated carbon for better filtration.
