I just recharged my ETC a couple of days ago, and it was quite simple. I went directly to the bank branch where I originally applied, bringing my ID card and vehicle license. Just filled out an application form at the counter. Note that you need to unbind the lost old card, and they will install new equipment for you. The new device needs to be activated manually, so remember to ask the staff to help you with it on the spot. The whole process took only half an hour, but policies vary among different banks, and some may charge a small fee for the equipment.

The most convenient way to replace an ETC device is through online operation. I downloaded the ETC Butler APP, selected 'Report Loss and Replace' under 'Device Management', uploaded photos of my ID card and vehicle license as required, paid the device fee, and had it directly mailed to my home. When installing it yourself, make sure there is no metal film on the front windshield—just stick it to the black area behind the rearview mirror. When activating it via Bluetooth on your phone, remember to turn off the car's WiFi and hotspot, otherwise it may fail.

Last time we replaced the ETC, we went directly to the highway service point, which was much faster than the bank. Just bring your vehicle registration and ID card, and you can get the new device on the spot. The staff will help you install and debug it, and also teach you how to bind it to WeChat Pay. They said that if the device is out of warranty, a material fee will be charged, and the three-year-old device cost me 168 yuan. A reminder: you need to settle any unpaid ETC fees before replacing it. I was stopped and had to pay over ten yuan before they let me proceed.

What are the differences between China V and China VI vehicle emission standards?

The differences between China V and China VI emission standards are as follows: Different emission standards: China VI standards are more than 30% stricter than China V. Excluding the influence of driving conditions and testing, gasoline vehicles' carbon monoxide emissions are reduced by 50%, total hydrocarbons and non-methane hydrocarbons emissions are reduced by 50%, and nitrogen oxide emissions are reduced by 42%. Different implementation times: The China V standard was implemented nationwide on January 1, 2017. The China VI standard has been implemented since July 1, 2019. Different principles: During the China V phase, diesel and gasoline vehicles had different emission standards, but China VI adopts a fuel-neutral principle, meaning the emission limits are the same regardless of the fuel type. Different issuing authorities: The China V standard was issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection. The China VI standard was issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. Different letter representations: China V is represented by 'V', while China VI is represented by 'VI'. Different monitoring requirements for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles: Compared to China V, China VI has improved monitoring requirements for plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, including energy storage systems, thermal management systems, brake regeneration, drive motors, generators, and other regulations. China V standard limits are as follows: Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 1,000 milligrams of carbon monoxide per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 68 milligrams of non-methane hydrocarbons per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 60 milligrams of nitrogen oxides per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 4.5 milligrams of PM (particulate matter) per kilometer driven. China VI has two standards: China VIa and China VIb. They are as follows: China VIa standard limits: Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 700 milligrams of carbon monoxide per kilometer driven. China VIb standard limits: Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 500 milligrams of carbon monoxide per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 35 milligrams of non-methane hydrocarbons per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 35 milligrams of nitrogen oxides per kilometer driven. Gasoline vehicles must not emit more than 3 milligrams of PM (particulate matter) per kilometer driven. Affected by the China VI emission policy, although China V vehicles are not currently restricted in normal use (no driving bans or license plate restrictions), their resale value is significantly impacted. For truck owners, if they purchase a truck on loan for cargo transport, after paying off the loan, the vehicle's depreciation is equivalent to the net profit earned during that period. A higher residual value means more profit for the owner. Therefore, from this perspective, China VI vehicles, which have a longer service life and more road rights, are more advantageous.

Is It Necessary to Sew a Leather Cover on the Steering Wheel?

Sewing a leather cover on the steering wheel is unnecessary and may cause it to slip, leading to potential hazards. Here are some of its drawbacks: 1. Difficulty in controlling the steering wheel: During winter snow and rain, icy roads are common. Using a steering wheel cover reduces the friction between the steering wheel and the hands, making it harder to control in slippery or sharp-turn conditions. This can lead to loss of grip, making it difficult to handle emergencies safely and increasing the risk of accidents. 2. Reduced driver's perception and judgment of road conditions: Drivers rely on the vibration of the steering wheel to sense road conditions, especially at high speeds or during sharp turns, allowing them to make quick emergency decisions. Using a steering wheel cover reduces the friction between the hands and the wheel, diminishing the driver's ability to perceive and judge road conditions. 3. Increased likelihood of the steering wheel slipping.

How many hours does it generally take to charge a car battery?

Generally, the charging time of a car battery is related to the charging equipment. Professional charging equipment requires 2-4 hours, while a normal charger usually takes 6-8 hours for a full charge. Below are the usage methods for car batteries: 1. Develop good in-car electricity habits: To maintain the vehicle battery, the most important thing is to develop good electricity habits. Avoid listening to the radio loudly, charging your phone, or using a charging pump when the engine is off. Over time, this can easily drain the battery, and frequent battery depletion will significantly reduce its lifespan. 2. Regularly drive on highways for long distances: There are many benefits to regularly driving on highways, not only can it remove carbon deposits from the vehicle, but it can also fully charge the battery. Generally, driving on the highway for more than an hour can fully charge the car battery, keeping it in optimal condition. 3. Do not leave the car unused for long periods: If the car is not used for a long time, the battery cable should be disconnected, or the vehicle should be started and driven for dozens of kilometers every two weeks to ensure the battery can function normally.

What is the normal fuel tank pressure?

The fuel pump pressure should be 284-325kpa. The following is a related introduction about the fuel tank: 1. Function: In addition to storing fuel, the fuel tank also plays roles in heat dissipation, separating air bubbles in the fuel, and settling impurities in the hydraulic system. There are two types of fuel tanks: open tanks and closed tanks. Open tanks have a simple structure and are easy to install and maintain, making them commonly used in hydraulic systems; closed tanks are generally used for pressurized fuel tanks. 2. Structure: The fuel tank usually has two outlets: one is the fuel filler neck that is directly visible, and the other is used to install the fuel pump and fuel metering device. The fuel tank is a relatively sealed system, often equipped with ventilation devices to prevent deformation caused by excessive fuel consumption and the resulting pressure difference between the tank and the atmosphere. Early fuel tanks were mostly made of metal materials, but later, synthetic materials were increasingly used to meet the requirements of lightweight and structural design.
