How to Repair a Water-Damaged Engine?
1 Answers
The simplest method is to check if the engine oil color shows any abnormalities. Inspect the air filter and the lower housing of the air filter one by one for any obvious signs of water ingress. Remove the spark plugs from each cylinder and check if they are damp. When water enters the engine, since water is difficult to compress, the piston cannot reach its original top dead center position, resulting in a noticeable downward shift in the top dead center position.
