How to remove the tensioner of the Encore alternator belt?

The method for removing the tensioner of the Encore alternator belt is: 1. Remove the engine support pad and lower the engine; 2. Remove the alternator belt and then remove the tensioner pulley. The Encore is a compact 5-door, 5-seat SUV with body dimensions of: length 4295mm, width 1798mm, height 1616mm, and a wheelbase of 2570mm. The Encore is equipped with a 1.3T turbocharged engine and a CVT continuously variable transmission, delivering a maximum power of 121 kW and a maximum torque of 240 Nm. It features front-wheel drive, with a front suspension using MacPherson independent suspension and a rear suspension using a compound torsion beam non-independent suspension.
I've removed the generator belt tensioner of the Encore several times myself, usually starting with preparing the tools: you'll need a large wrench or socket tool, approximately 15mm in size. Then, make sure the engine is completely cooled before starting to prevent burns or accidental startup. Locate the position; it's generally at the front of the engine, directly connected to the belt. Push the tensioner to release the tension, at which point the belt can be easily removed. Next, remove the fixing bolts, being careful not to drop the washers inside. After completion, check the tensioner for any wear or cracks. The whole job takes about half an hour, but don't forget to wear gloves in advance to protect your hands, as there's a lot of grease. If it's your first attempt, it's best to refer to the vehicle manual or get a friend to help to avoid damaging other components. Remember to clean your tools after disassembly; residual oil and grime will make the next job even harder.
