How to Remove the Steering Wheel Airbag Cover?
1 Answers
Prepare a flathead screwdriver. First, locate the screw beneath the steering wheel, where the steering column connects. Use the flathead screwdriver to turn and remove the screw. Be sure to apply even pressure when prying, and stop when you hear a click. Remove the cover plate on the steering wheel. The airbag module consists of an inflator that generates gas upon receiving signals from the collision sensor. Use the screwdriver to pry open the bolts securing the airbag under the steering wheel cover. Cars equipped with airbags have steering wheels that look no different from regular ones.
