How to remove the starter of BYD F0?

Disconnect the negative cable of the battery and remove the starter cable. Disconnect the starter connector and clean the dust and oil stains on the surface of the starter. Remove the starter, take off the dust cover, pull up the carbon brush spring, and take out the carbon brush. Take out the armature, remove the screw of the drive lever pin shaft, and take out the drive pin and return spring. Remove the connecting copper piece between the switch and the field coil terminal, then remove the fixing screw of the switch and take off the switch.
With years of experience in car repairs, removing the starter of a BYD F0 is quite common, but the steps require careful attention: First, ensure the car is parked stably, the engine is turned off, and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to prevent short circuits or electric shocks. Locate the starter at the lower front part of the engine, near the transmission. The position is somewhat hidden, so you might need a jack or lift to raise the car for easier access. Bring along 10mm and 12mm socket wrenches and a screwdriver. Before loosening the mounting screws, take photos to record their positions to avoid incorrect reassembly. Next, remove the wire connectors carefully to avoid breaking the wires, and use pliers to gently release the clips. The starter usually has two mounting screws; use a wrench to loosen them and slowly remove the starter. Be cautious as the engine compartment is tight—move slowly to avoid bumping into other parts. After removal, inspect the starter gear for wear and clean any oxidation or rust from the wire connectors. Reassemble in reverse order, tightening the screws but avoiding excessive force. Safety first—if you lack experience, it's advisable to have a professional at a repair shop inspect it to prevent vehicle damage.
