How to Remove the Speed Limit on Xinlei 48V

Locate the power switch of the Xinlei 48V and check if the power is on. Do not turn on the power. Hold the brake lever and turn the throttle to the maximum. Turn on the power while holding the brake lever and rotate the throttle to the maximum three times consecutively. On the third time, keep the throttle turned to the maximum for 5 to 8 seconds. The speed limit wire of the electric vehicle is generally located on the controller under the seat. Next to the controller, there is a single white power wire, which is a standalone wire. Cut this white wire. With the power lock off, hold the brake lever and turn the throttle to the maximum. Turn on the power lock, keep the throttle and brake engaged for 3-5 seconds to enter full-speed mode.
I understand that removing speed limiters is quite common. The default factory speed limit for Xinlei 48V electric bicycles is around 25 km/h, and some users find it too slow and want to increase the speed. In practice, this may involve working with the controller, such as locating and disconnecting the speed-limiting plug on the bike or using matching software to adjust parameters. However, it's important to remind you that modifying the speed limit privately violates traffic regulations. In many places, speeding can result in fines and vehicle impoundment, and it may also strain the braking system, leading to accidents, as well as faster tire wear. Manufacturers design speed limits with safety in mind, and modifying them means forfeiting the original warranty. If the motor burns out, you'll have to pay for repairs out of pocket, which isn’t worth it. If you really want to try, first back up the original settings and proceed with caution—don’t ignore the risks for temporary thrills.
