How to Remove the Rear Seat of the X-Trail?

There is a safety pin on the backrest base. Press the safety pin and remove the rear backrest. Push the rear seat backward, being careful not to lift it forcefully. When lifting the seat, do it slowly to avoid breaking the plastic clips that secure the seat. Thread the fixing wire of the wool seat cover under the seat and secure it. The rear backrest can only be completely removed after loosening the tightening screws at the bottom of the rear backrest.
When I had my car serviced at the 4S店 before, I watched the technician remove the rear seats of the X-Trail, and it was actually quite simple. First, lift up hard on both sides of the rear seat cushion until you hear the clips release. If it's your first time removing it, remember to push the cushion forward a bit to get a better view of the clip positions underneath. The X-Trail's seat cushion is secured by four metal clips—never force it off, as it can easily deform. Once the cushion is removed, you can see the seatbelt sockets and mounting brackets. If you want to completely remove it, you'll need a wrench to unscrew the bracket bolts. Also, a heads-up: there might be wiring connectors under the cushion, so be careful not to pull them apart when disconnecting. After removing the cushion, the backrest is straightforward—just release the fixed hooks on both sides near the shoulders, and the whole thing can be taken off. If you're doing it yourself, wearing gloves is recommended, as the edges of the seat steel plates can be quite sharp.
Just installed seat covers on the rear seats of my X-Trail last week, sharing some tips. The disassembly mainly involves two parts: the seat cushion and the backrest. There's a clip on each side of the seat cushion - after locating them, just slide your fingers into the gap between the cushion and floor panel and lift upwards. Important: don't lift just one side, apply even force to both sides simultaneously for smooth operation. Once the clips release, push the cushion forward to remove it completely, revealing the seatbelt anchor beneath. The rear backrest comes off even faster - there are two L-shaped metal hooks at shoulder level; apply some clever upward pressure then pull outward to unhook. The whole process takes about ten minutes, but it's better with two people as working alone might scratch interior panels. By the way, this clip design actually makes carpet cleaning much easier.
