How to Remove the Rear Backrest of a Passat?

On both sides of the rear seat near the windows, there are handles. First, pull the handles, and then the rear backrest can be folded forward. Simply press the cushion part of the rear seat toward the rear of the car, then lift it upward to remove the rear backrest.
I've been driving a Passat for several years and have plenty of experience removing the rear backrest myself. The steps are actually simple: First, sit on the rear seat and feel between the top of the backrest and the window—there's usually a nylon pull strap or a small metal ring hidden in the fabric. Gently pull it until you hear a click as the latch releases, then slowly lift the entire backrest upward to remove it. But pay attention to the details: If the car has a seat heating function, you'll need to locate and unplug the wiring connector first. The latches are plastic, so don't use too much force to avoid breaking them. I've removed it to clean stains from the seat covers, and when reinstalling, make sure the latches are securely fastened. Take your time with the whole process—spending a few extra minutes to work carefully can save a lot of trouble and protect the car's electrical components. For first-timers, I recommend checking the owner's manual or watching a tutorial video to avoid accidentally removing other parts.
