How to Remove the Navigation System in Highlander?

Highlander navigation removal method: Before removing the navigation system, use a trim removal tool to pry loose the air vents, remove the surrounding decorative panels, disconnect the internal connectors and the air conditioning regulator, then unscrew the mounting screws to detach the car's navigation unit. During removal, note that the navigation system contains numerous wiring connections; avoid excessive force to prevent cable damage. In terms of powertrain, the Highlander is equipped with a 3.5L V6 engine delivering up to 201kW output, paired with a stepped 5-speed automatic transmission with manual mode, ensuring smooth acceleration and excellent fuel efficiency. The Highlander's high-rigidity unibody chassis integrates well with its four-wheel-drive system, newly developed suspension, and 19-inch large-diameter wheels, providing outstanding handling, ride comfort, and off-road capability.
I've disassembled the Highlander navigation system twice myself. You'll need plastic pry tools and a Phillips screwdriver. First, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety. Use the plastic pry tool to start from the gap in the center console panel, beginning with the silver trim strips on both sides of the AC control area. The clips are fragile, so be gentle. After removing the trim strips, you'll see four Phillips screws. Once these are removed, the entire panel can be taken off. Behind the navigation unit, there are power and data cable connectors—press the clips and pull them straight out. Be careful with the AC vent blades during disassembly; last time I was too forceful and nearly broke a blade. Finally, remove the four mounting screws of the navigation bracket to completely take it out. Avoid using metal tools throughout the process to prevent scratching the piano black panel.
