The following is the method for removing the heater core of a Santana: 1. Drain the coolant and remove the control panel. 2. Separate the cable fastener on the left side of the heater assembly and remove the screws on the terminal posts. 3. Disconnect the wiring connector behind the blower motor. 4. Remove the vacuum hose and the lighting wire behind the heater control assembly. 5. Place a container under the heater water supply pipe behind the cylinder head, beneath the engine. 6. Disconnect the heater water supply pipe behind the cylinder head. The car heater core provides warmth to the interior, raising the temperature inside the car and removing frost and fog from the windshield. Its working principle is that when the engine is running, the coolant heated by the high temperature of the engine cylinders is pumped by the engine cooling system's water pump through the inlet pipe into the heat exchanger. The air blown by the blower fan carries the heat dissipated by the coolant into the cabin or onto the windshield to increase the interior temperature and defrost.
