How to remove the headrest of the new GL8 ES?

First, press the plastic button under the headrest support rod of the Buick GL8 with one hand, and move the upper support rod of the headrest up and down with the other hand. Then, slightly press down the fabric next to the headrest adjustment button of the Buick GL8, and use a large flathead screwdriver to pry inward under the plastic adjustment button. Next, simultaneously press the two adjustment buttons on the headrest of the Buick GL8 vehicle seat, which allows you to move the headrest up and down. Finally, pull out the headrest of the Buick GL8 vehicle seat.
I learned this headrest removal trick from my coworker. The GL8 ES has plastic buttons on the sides of the rear headrests. You need to insert your fingers into the small gap near the headrest rods to locate the two small buttons on both sides, then press them down firmly and simultaneously. When properly pressed, you'll feel a distinct click. At this point, grab the entire headrest with both hands and pull it straight up decisively in one motion. Last time when I helped my boss move equipment by removing headrests, I found that adjusting the seat to a more upright position makes it easier to apply force. But be careful with the car windows - I nearly hit the glass edge with the metal rods last time, as that area is particularly prone to scratches. Upon removal, I noticed the buckle mechanism is actually quite clever, featuring a spring-controlled locking device.
