How to Remove the Headrest of an Equinox?

Press the plastic button under the headrest support rod with your hand. While holding the button, use your other hand to move the headrest support rod up and down. Hold the adjustment button with one hand, and with the other hand, lift the car headrest upwards until the support rod separates from the seat.
A few years ago, I handled this myself, and removing the Equinox headrest is actually quite simple. You just need to sit directly on the seat, locate the metal rods at the bottom of the headrest, where there’s usually a small round button or clip hidden inside the plastic sleeve. Press it firmly—not too hard or too soft, about the same pressure as pressing a phone’s volume button—and hold it down while using your other hand to pull the headrest upward with force. Don’t panic during the process; if it gets stuck, gently wiggle it side to side before pulling again. The Equinox headrest is designed for safety and won’t come off easily, but don’t yank too hard to avoid damaging any parts. After removal, it’s a good idea to clean the headrest rod holes, as accumulated dust might affect reinstallation. By the way, here are some benefits: removing it allows you to wash the headrest cover, especially useful in summer when sweating increases or if it gets dirty—DIY saves money and is convenient. Always do this when parked for safety, to avoid distractions while driving.
