How to Remove the Golf Center Console?

Remove the two screws on the side panel of the gear knob, then take off the small round covers on both sides of the rear ashtray. Next, remove the ashtray, and after pulling out the cup holder, you will see two screws. Once these are removed, lift the center console upward and backward.
I've done the Golf center console removal a few times myself, and it's not too difficult. First, get a set of tools – plastic pry tools and a Phillips screwdriver are essential. Start with the gear shift cover; for manual transmissions, you'll need to unscrew a few small screws and gently pry up the cover. Then move on to the storage compartment or cup holder section – some models have hidden screws underneath, so don't pull too hard to avoid scratching the plastic. Be careful with wires and connectors, like those for the AC controls or USB ports; disconnect them carefully to avoid breaking anything you'll regret later. Take your time with the whole process – I usually finish in about half an hour. If you get stuck, pause and check a video tutorial; don't rush. Once it's apart, cleaning or repairs become much easier, but remember to keep all parts organized so reassembly isn't a headache. One last tip: plastic on older cars can be brittle, so beginners should practice on simpler areas first.
