How to remove the gear lever of Chery e5?

First, remove the dust cover of the gear lever by lifting it upwards until it cannot be lifted further. At this point, loosen the dust cover by prying it out with a trim panel tool. Then, rotate the gear lever head counterclockwise along with the dust cover to remove it. There are also one or two fixing screws. Remove the fixing screws and rotate the gear lever head counterclockwise to take it off. After removing the rope, a hexagonal screw will be exposed. Use a hex key to unscrew the hexagonal screw counterclockwise, and the gear lever can then be pulled out.
Removing the gear shift knob of the Chery E5 is actually quite simple, I've done it several times. First, prepare a Phillips screwdriver and a small pry bar, and keep gloves handy to prevent slipping. Then disconnect the negative terminal of the car battery—this is very important to avoid short circuits that could damage the electrical system. There's a plastic cover on the base of the gear shift knob; gently pry it open with the pry bar, but don't use too much force to avoid scratching the interior. Under the cover, you'll see the fixing screws; just loosen them counterclockwise with the screwdriver. The gear shift knob can be pulled straight up. If it feels stuck, a slight wiggle will loosen it. The whole process can be done in as little as 10 minutes, but note that manual transmissions are easier—automatic gear shift knobs may have more cable connections, so avoid yanking and breaking any wires. After removal, I often take the opportunity to clean out dust inside or replace the gear shift knob. When reinserting, tighten the screws and replace the cover to restore it to its original state. If you've never removed car parts before, ask a friend for help or watch a video tutorial to practice—it's a fun DIY maintenance task.
