Press the adjustment button with one hand while holding the car headrest with the other hand, then lift it upward continuously. This will separate the headrest support rods from the seat. Press down the fabric around the adjustment button to expose the area beneath it. Use a large flat-head screwdriver to reach under the adjustment button, where you will encounter a plastic clip. Pry inward with the flat-head screwdriver while lifting the adjustment button upward with the other hand. This will detach the button from the car's backrest.
