How to Remove the Door Panel of a Focus?

Ford Focus door panel removal steps: 1. First, use a plastic pry tool to pry open the door speaker cover along the edge of the door trim panel speaker cover. After removing the door speaker cover, you will find a cross-head screw; remove it. 2. There is another cross-head screw below the door handle; remove it as well. 3. Then, use the plastic pry tool to pry open the edge of the door trim panel, and remove the internal screws with a screwdriver. 4. After all screws are removed, use two plastic pry tools to start from the bottom of the door panel and sequentially pry open the clips of the door panel. 5. Once all clips are pried open, the door panel can be directly removed.
Taking off the Focus door panel is something I often do when working on my car. The first step is to locate the screw holes on the door panel—usually hidden behind the door handle, covered by a small plastic cap. Gently pry it open with a flathead screwdriver to reveal the screws, then unscrew and set them aside. Next comes the clips: the door panel is secured to the car body with clips around its edges. You can slowly pull them out by hand or with a plastic pry tool—avoid using brute force, as the plastic can break. Once, I was too hasty and broke a couple of clips, and had to replace them later with new parts. Also, pay attention to electrical connections: the window switch panel must have its wiring harness disconnected first, or you risk tearing the wires when removing the panel, which is a hassle to fix. A basic toolkit is all you need for the job. After removal, you can clean the inner liner or upgrade the audio system, but remember to check all connections for safety when reassembling. The process isn’t too difficult, but beginners should watch YouTube videos first to familiarize themselves with clip locations and avoid mistakes.
