How to Remove the Cigarette Lighter from the Car?

First, turn on the car's power supply. The cigarette lighter will start heating up. When the temperature of the heating wire reaches a certain level, it will automatically pop out. Alternatively, you can wait for 5-8 seconds until the heating wire turns red, then pull out the upper part of the cigarette lighter directly.
Having dealt with cars for so many years, removing the cigarette lighter is quite easy. After turning off the engine and parking, wait for the lighter to cool down first—otherwise, it can be troublesome if it's too hot to handle. Pinch the metal middle section with your fingers—avoiding the heating coil part—and gently pull it outward to remove it. If it's stuck, don't force it; a slight wiggle or twist at a small angle can loosen it. Experienced drivers know this well: forcibly pulling it out might damage the socket, leading to costly repairs. After removal, take the opportunity to clean the dust off both the lighter and the socket to extend their lifespan. I often find that accumulated dust in the socket causes poor contact, so regular wiping makes things more hassle-free. Remember this simple maintenance trick, and your car's electrical system will last longer.
