How to Remove the A-Pillar of the Mazda3 Axela?

Pull off the door seal on that side, then use your hand to grip the corner of the A-pillar interior trim panel. Apply sudden force to release the topmost clip of the A-pillar interior trim panel. Hold the detached part and use a plastic pry tool to release the second fixed clip in the middle. All the fixed clips of the A-pillar interior trim panel will then be loosened. First, use a flat-head screwdriver to press against the upper part of the black clip, then use another screwdriver to press against the lower part of the black clip. Use both screwdrivers to apply force and squeeze the black clip towards the center. Once the clip is released from the car body, you can then remove the A-pillar interior trim panel.
I've done the A-pillar trim removal a few times, mainly for routing dashcam wires. It's not too difficult but requires patience. First, get a plastic pry tool or soft-headed implement – metal ones are too hard and may scratch the paint. Start prying from the bottom near the door where there's a small gap. Gently pop the clips loose without excessive force to avoid breaking these plastic retainers. Watch for wiring inside – my car has tweeters with wiring connected to the airbag module, so disconnect connectors first to prevent damage. After removing the entire panel, check clip positions. When reinstalling, align properly and press until you hear clicks. If it won't budge, there might be hidden screws under the weatherstrip – peel back the seal to check. Wear gloves for hand protection, and always test functions after reassembly.
