How to Remove Double-Sided Tape from a Car?

If the adhesive is on the car glass, you can first use a hot towel or a hair dryer to heat the adhesive, and then peel it off. It's best to first wipe it hard with a wet towel, and then use a relatively soft utility knife blade to scrape off the adhesive.
I have some experience to share on removing double-sided tape residue from cars. Last time after peeling off old decorative stickers, the sticky glue residue was quite annoying. I first used a hairdryer on low heat to blow warm air at the tape for a few minutes to soften it. Then I dipped an old towel in some rubbing alcohol and gently wiped – the alcohol dissolves the adhesive without damaging the paint. After repeating this a few times, it came clean. If you run out of alcohol, try essential balm or peanut oil which also work well, but avoid applying too thickly as oil stains can be hard to remove. Always use gentle motions during the process and avoid scraping with hard objects to prevent surface scratches. After cleaning, rinse the car body with water to ensure no residue remains. For future applications, using static cling stickers or those with less adhesive can prevent the issue. Remember to work in a well-ventilated area to avoid inhaling too many fumes. This method saves time and effort while restoring your car's clean appearance.
