How to Remove and Install a Wiper Motor?

Press the locking clip and disconnect the wiring harness connector simultaneously. Use a 23mm socket with a breaker bar to remove the two fixing nuts of the wiper arm assembly. Press the bolt of the wiper transmission bracket by hand to remove the wiper.
I've taken apart the wiper motor several times before, and it doesn't seem too difficult for beginners, but safety is key. The top priority is disconnecting the negative terminal of the car battery to prevent electric shock—many accidents happen this way. The tools required aren't complicated either; just a Phillips screwdriver and a wrench will do. During disassembly, first unscrew the nut on the wiper arm and gently remove the arm to avoid scratching the windshield. Next, remove the screws on the water deflector panel, and after prying it open, you'll see the bracket screws securing the motor. Unscrew those, disconnect the wiring harness, and the old motor can be easily pulled out. When installing the new motor, reverse the steps, ensuring all screws are tightened securely to prevent loosening, then reconnect the battery to test functionality. The first time I did this, I forgot to disconnect the battery, which caused a fuse to short—resulting in an extra trip to the repair shop. The whole process can be done at home in about 40 minutes, saving a good chunk of money. After finishing, don't forget to test the wiper speeds to ensure smooth operation—it's a crucial step for safe driving.
