How to Release the Ford Handbrake?

There is a button in front of the handbrake; press it inward and then lower the handbrake. If the handbrake cannot be pressed inward, you can first lift the handbrake upward while holding the button, and then the handbrake can be released.
As a frequent driver, I'd like to share a simple method to release the Ford handbrake: Under normal circumstances, after sitting firmly in the driver's seat, first press the brake pedal firmly to prevent the car from moving; then locate the handbrake lever next to the seat, which is usually on the center console or the driver's side, and grip it with your right hand. If it's a mechanical handbrake, gently lift it slightly until you feel it loosen, then press the small button at the top of the lever while pushing it all the way down until you hear a click or the lever lies completely flat, indicating it's released. Remember to operate on level ground to prevent the car from rolling; if it gets stuck, don't force it—try gently wiggling the lever or check for any obstructions. Ford handbrakes are generally reliable, but older cars may have rust issues, so regular lubrication can prevent problems. After releasing, always check that the dashboard warning light is off before driving—it's a good habit for safe driving. If on a slope, you can first shift to P (Park) or engage the foot brake for extra security. I believe every Ford driver should be familiar with this basic operation, as it makes parking and starting smoother.
