How to Refill a Jack?

Locate and remove the rubber plug on the jack body. Place the jack horizontally with the refill port facing upward, then refill the oil. Push the piston to the bottom and reinsert the rubber plug to complete the refilling process. During refilling, the oil level should always remain at the center line of the oil gauge to prevent the oil pump from running dry. When refilling, use an oil filter to remove impurities from the new oil. For frequent use, clean the oil filter every two months, and clean the oil tank and replace the oil every six months.
I've been in this business for years, and adding oil to a jack requires caution. First, identify whether it's hydraulic or another type. There's usually an oil filler hole at the top—clean the area before unscrewing the cap to prevent dust from mixing into the oil. Use dedicated hydraulic oil instead of regular engine oil, as the latter can cause blockages and jamming. Slowly pour in the oil until it reaches the full mark, avoiding overfilling. After adding oil, pump the handle several times to bleed air and ensure smooth operation, then test it by lifting a small weight to confirm safety and functionality. It's recommended to check the oil level every six months and top up as needed; replace the oil if it's dirty. Store the jack in a sheltered, dry place to prevent rust—proper tool maintenance ensures it won't fail when changing tires.
