How to Read the Temperature on the Focus Water Temperature Gauge?
1 Answers
The lowest temperature on the Focus water temperature gauge is 60 degrees, and the highest is 120 degrees, with each increment representing 15 degrees. The needle pointing to the middle indicates the normal operating temperature. When starting the engine, the water temperature gauge should not indicate below 50 degrees Celsius. During normal driving, the normal reading on the water temperature gauge should be between 70 and 90 degrees Celsius. Excessive water temperature can cause the following damages to the engine: 1. Expansion of engine components reduces the clearance between parts, increasing engine wear; 2. Decreases the viscosity of engine oil, leading to reduced engine lifespan; 3. Damages the cylinder head gasket, causing cross-flow between the water, oil, and air passages on the gasket.
