How to Read the Fuel Gauge to Check Remaining Fuel?
1 Answers
The method to read the fuel gauge and check the remaining fuel is as follows: On an analog fuel gauge marked with the letters E and F, the closer the needle is to the letter F, the more fuel remains, while the closer it is to the letter E, the less fuel remains. A digital fuel gauge displays the remaining fuel through the remaining driving range and the number of illuminated segments on the dial. The fuel gauge is located directly in front of the driver's position, sharing the same instrument panel with indicators for coolant temperature, engine speed, and vehicle speed, each distinguished by a simple icon. The fuel system mainly consists of four components: the fuel gauge, sensor circuit, variable resistor, and float. When the fuel tank is full, the resistance value of the variable resistor connected to the float decreases, allowing the circuit current to reach its maximum. At this point, the fuel gauge needle is at its highest position. As the fuel level decreases, the resistance value of the variable resistor increases accordingly, reducing the circuit current and causing the fuel gauge needle to drop.
