The 10th digit represents the model year. The 1st digit is 'L' indicating China, the 2nd and 3rd digits represent the manufacturer, and digits 4-9 indicate the vehicle type and configuration. The model year is represented by a letter or number (but the number cannot be 0, and the letters cannot be O, Q, I, or Z). The 11th digit is the assembly plant letter or number.

When I usually look for the VIN, I first check the small plate near the driver's side at the bottom of the windshield—the 17-digit code is quite noticeable. Additionally, after opening the door, the label or nameplate on the door frame often has the VIN engraved. If you're checking while parked on the roadside, sometimes there’s also an imprint next to the engine under the hood. This code can tell you the car’s manufacturer, model, and year, among other details—super handy. For example, I always rely on it to check history records during maintenance or when buying/selling used cars to avoid pitfalls. There are plenty of free online tools where you can input the VIN to check accident reports or maintenance history—it’s very straightforward and saves you from paying for professional services, making life easier for everyday car owners. Pay attention to these spots, and once you get used to it, you’ll never be left clueless again.

What to Do When Brake Torque is Insufficient?

Here are the adjustment methods for insufficient brake torque: 1. Tighten the locking nut, then rotate the compression nut clockwise to compress the spring until the distance L3045mm is achieved. 2. Press the brake push rod with one hand, and use the other hand to rotate the push rod bolt so that the gap between it and the brake push rod is between 11.5mm. Adjust the other side using the same method. 3. Connect the power supply as required and open the brake to allow the brake wheel to rotate freely. 4. Operate the traction machine in both forward and reverse directions, then momentarily activate the brake switch. Observe the inverter's current value during the braking moment to see if the braking current is twice the rated current, and adjust the compression nut accordingly based on the actual value. 5. After adjusting the torque, tighten the locking nuts on both sides. 6. With the brake open and the traction machine running, slowly rotate the push rod bolt counterclockwise while carefully listening until the brake lining lightly touches the brake wheel. Then, slowly rotate the push rod bolt clockwise by approximately 90-120 degrees and tighten the push rod locking nut.

The Difference Between 92 and 95 Octane Gasoline

92 and 95 octane gasoline differ in the following ways: 1. Different power: The octane rating of gasoline represents its anti-knock performance, with a higher number indicating better anti-knock capability. 95 octane gasoline, which has a higher octane value, is suitable for engines with higher compression ratios. This is because, as the engine speed increases, the ignition timing in the cylinder advances more. When the speed reaches a critical point, the fuel-air mixture in the cylinder may ignite prematurely before the spark plug fires, a phenomenon known as knocking. Increasing the octane value of gasoline can effectively enhance its anti-knock performance. 2. Different isooctane content: 92 octane gasoline consists of 92% isooctane and 8% n-heptane, while 95 octane gasoline is made up of 95% isooctane and 5% n-heptane. The slightly higher price of 95 octane gasoline is due to its higher proportion of isooctane. 3. Different prices: A tank of 95 octane gasoline is slightly more expensive than a tank of 92 octane gasoline.

What to Do When a Tire Goes Flat on the Highway?

The solutions for a flat tire on the highway are as follows: 1. First, pull over to the side: Identify the cause of the flat tire, checking for possible leaks such as punctures, cuts, aging or cracked rubber on the valve stem, etc. 2. If you continue driving with insufficient tire pressure: It can damage the tire, cause the wheel rim to deform, and make driving unsafe, as it becomes difficult to control the direction. 3. If only one tire is flat: You can choose to replace it with the spare tire and then have it repaired at a service shop. 4. If you have tire sealant in the car: You can use the tire sealant, which is stored in a compressed canister. When used, it is injected into the tire through the valve stem, simultaneously sealing the leak and inflating the tire. If there is no spare tire, the best option is to call for roadside assistance to tow the vehicle or request a mobile tire repair service.

What are the three major tests required for the car body?

The following is an introduction to the three major tests for automotive bodies: 1. Crash safety test: According to Li Gaolin, Deputy Dean of BYD Automotive Engineering Research Institute, it is through thousands of CAE simulation optimizations during the R&D process, hundreds of matching tests, and dozens of vehicle crash tests that the restraint systems such as seat belts and airbags are continuously optimized and matched with the body structure and vehicle layout, resulting in the current 'safest domestic car,' the Surui. 2. NVH test: BYD's NVH laboratory is divided into two phases: Phase I includes a four-wheel-drive semi-anechoic chamber (pass-by), a two-wheel-drive semi-anechoic chamber, a drumless semi-anechoic chamber, a component sound absorption and insulation laboratory, a full anechoic chamber, a listening room, and a modal laboratory. Among these, the four-wheel-drive and two-wheel-drive semi-anechoic chambers are at the leading domestic level. The research achievements in NVH have significantly improved the overall quality of BYD's vehicles, providing consumers with a noise-free driving environment. 3. EMC test: The vehicle EMC laboratory was completed in 2013 and has the capability to conduct EMC tests for R&D models, including M1-class passenger cars and electric buses, as well as EMC testing for electric vehicle charging systems.

Can a leak sealant be used for engine cylinder head gasket leakage?

Engine cylinder head gasket leakage can be temporarily addressed with a leak sealant, but it is only an emergency solution providing a short-term buffer. The gasket must ultimately be replaced to prevent extensive damage from coolant entering the engine. Effects of engine cylinder head gasket leakage: When the cylinder head gasket is damaged, it compromises the seal between the cylinder head and the engine block, leading to air leakage. Due to oil and coolant leakage, the affected area may exhibit spraying of oil and coolant, accompanied by a sound of gas mixed with liquid. A damaged gasket also reduces cylinder pressure, allowing compressed gas to escape through gaps, potentially entering other cylinders or the engine block, ultimately causing unstable engine operation. Solutions for engine cylinder head gasket leakage: Cylinder head gasket damage is a severe issue. If detected, the vehicle should be stopped and the engine turned off immediately, followed by calling for assistance. Using a leak sealant is only a temporary measure, not a permanent fix. The damaged gasket should be promptly repaired to prevent severe damage that could lead to various vehicle problems.

What are the length, width, and height dimensions of the Toyota Highlander?

The length, width, and height dimensions of the Toyota Highlander are 4965mm/1930mm/1750mm, which are official data. The length of the Toyota Highlander refers to the distance between two vertical planes perpendicular to the vehicle's longitudinal symmetry plane and touching the outermost protruding parts at the front and rear of the vehicle; the width refers to the distance between two planes parallel to the vehicle's longitudinal symmetry plane and touching the outermost rigid fixed protruding parts on both sides of the vehicle; the height refers to the distance between the highest point of the vehicle and the vehicle's supporting plane. The naturally aspirated engine of the Toyota Highlander has a maximum power of 141kW and a maximum torque of 238 N·m. This engine reaches its maximum power at 6000 rpm and its maximum torque between 4200-4600 rpm. It is equipped with in-cylinder direct injection technology and uses an aluminum alloy cylinder head and block. This engine is paired with an electronic continuously variable transmission (E-CVT). There are national regulations regarding vehicle dimensions. According to the national standard "GB1589-89," the total width of a vehicle does not include side mirrors. The limitation on vehicle width is to provide sufficient lateral clearance for overtaking between adjacent lanes. This means that, according to national standards, the significance of vehicle width data lies in ensuring enough space during overtaking to prevent accidents due to excessive width or situations where road markings are narrower than the vehicle's width. Additionally, national regulations stipulate that the total width of a vehicle must not exceed 2.5m to meet the requirements of public road usage.
