How to Quickly Whiten Yellowed Car Headlight Covers?

Use a white Headlight Lens Restorer to wipe vigorously. First, spray a small amount of degreaser on the surface of the headlight cover, then wipe the headlight surface with a damp cloth. Apply prepared single-sided adhesive tape around the outline of the headlight and cover the outer contour with newspaper or similar material. First, spray the headlight with a restorer, keeping a distance of 15-20 cm from the headlight. Perform a second spray, with intervals of 10-15 minutes between each application, until the headlight becomes clear and bright.
I noticed that the yellowing of car light covers not only affects their appearance but also poses a safety hazard, likely due to prolonged sun exposure causing oxidation. I tried mixing toothpaste and baking soda myself, roughly three parts toothpaste to one part baking soda with a little water, stirring it into a paste, applying it to the light cover, and gently rubbing in circles with a soft cloth. After about five minutes, I washed it off, and the effect was quick—the cover turned white within one or two hours. The key is to be gentle to avoid scratching the surface. Parking in shaded areas as much as possible can help prevent yellowing. If the light cover is cracked or too old, this method won’t work, and you’ll need to consider replacing it to ensure proper lighting brightness for safe driving.
