How to quickly downshift from third gear to first gear?

You can brake to slow down. When the speed drops to 10, directly shift from 3rd gear to 1st gear, slightly turn the steering wheel, and adjust the direction to pull over. Depress the clutch, turn off the gear display, apply the brake gently to reduce the speed from 30 to below 10, then switch to first gear.
After driving a manual transmission for so many years, I always use the direct shift from third to first gear in emergency situations. For example, if the car in front suddenly brakes hard, I first step on the brake to slow down to below 20 km/h, press the clutch pedal all the way down with my left foot, and then pull the gear lever directly from third to first gear with my right hand. Note that forcing into first gear at too high a speed will cause the transmission to make a grinding noise, and in severe cases, the driveshaft could be damaged. I also use this technique when going down steep slopes, but always combine it with intermittent braking to prevent the engine RPM from soaring and burning the clutch plates. This downshifting method saves the transition time through second gear, but the significant RPM difference can cause noticeable jerking.
