Allow the engine to idle for a while before driving, especially in winter, where it should idle for at least two minutes before slowly moving off. This ensures the oil fully lubricates the bearings before the turbocharger operates at high speeds, preventing excessive wear due to poor lubrication. 2. After prolonged high-speed operation, do not immediately turn off the engine: During operation, part of the engine oil is supplied to the turbocharger for lubrication and cooling. If the engine is suddenly turned off while the turbo is running at high speed, the turbo will continue to spin due to inertia. However, since the engine has stopped, the oil pump also stops working, cutting off the oil supply to the turbo bearings. This leads to poor heat dissipation, localized overheating, and dry friction between the shaft and bushing, which can severely damage the bearings. 3. Choose high-quality oil and keep it clean: Turbocharged engines operate at higher temperatures and pressures, generating greater impact and compression forces.
