To play music via USB, first download the music files, then insert the USB drive into the USB port of the vehicle's computer. Select the USB music playback option in the vehicle computer's music player. Insert the USB drive into the center console USB port, and use the buttons on the right side of the multifunction steering wheel to select playback.

As a music-loving road trip veteran, here's how I use Lexus USB drives for tunes: First, format a 32GB or smaller USB drive to FAT32, then save your favorite MP3 or FLAC files directly in the root directory or first-level folders (avoid nested folders). Just plug it into the glovebox USB port, start the car, tap the 'Media' icon on the infotainment screen, and select USB audio source for automatic playback. The steering wheel's right-side buttons make track-switching effortless and eyes-free. Pro tip: opt for mini metal USB drives as they handle summer heat better. Before long trips, I use Foobar to convert all tracks to 320kbps - that's when the Mark Levinson sound system truly shines.

From my car audio modification experience, Lexus infotainment systems are quite strict with USB drive requirements. You must use a FAT32/exFAT formatted USB drive - NTFS definitely won't be recognized. I specifically prepared a SanDisk 32GB Ultra Fit USB drive with 200 songs, plugged into the USB 2.0 port in the center armrest. Remember not to rush tapping the screen after startup - wait 10 seconds for the system self-check before switching audio sources. Some older IS models only recognize songs in the root folder. When encountering recognition issues, it's best to remove all Chinese characters from filenames. Supported lossless formats depend on model year - LS can play FLAC but NX only recognizes WAV. Recently discovered continuous playback for 4 hours causes stuttering, which is solved by formatting the drive monthly.

Simple three steps: 1. Format the USB drive as FAT32 and store MP3 songs; 2. Insert it into the glove box USB port; 3. While driving, press the 'SOURCE' button on the steering wheel to switch to USB mode for direct playback. Songs downloaded from NetEase Cloud Music need to be converted in format, and the folder hierarchy should not exceed three levels. The playback position will be automatically remembered after turning off the engine.
