How to Park an Automatic Transmission Car?
1 Answers
Parking method for automatic transmission cars: 1. Press the brake, wait for the car to come to a complete stop, then shift from D (Drive) to N (Neutral), and engage the handbrake; 2. Turn off the engine, release the foot brake, wait until the vehicle shows no forward or backward movement, then shift from N (Neutral) to P (Park); 3. For cars with mechanical keys, turn the key off and on again, remove the key, and lock the doors. For cars equipped with a one-button start system, simply lock the doors. An automatic transmission eliminates the need for the driver to manually shift gears, as the vehicle automatically selects the appropriate gear based on driving speed and traffic conditions. Typically, automatic transmission cars have six gear positions, arranged from top to bottom as P (Park), R (Reverse), N (Neutral), D (Drive), S (Sport), and L (Low).
