How to Operate the KAMIQ Automatic Transmission?

KAMIQ automatic transmission operation method: The vehicle can only be started in P and N gears. To shift out of P gear, the gear lever must be pressed while stepping on the brake. The use of N gear start is when the vehicle is started and driven forward directly. The owner can first turn on the power, step on the brake to pull the gear to N, then ignite, and then shift into D gear to move forward directly. The KAMIQ's body dimensions are 4390 mm in length, 1781 mm in width, and 1593 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2610 mm. The KAMIQ's drive mode is front-engine front-wheel drive, with a front suspension type of MacPherson independent suspension and a rear suspension type of torsion beam non-independent suspension.
For commuters like me who often drive automatic transmission cars, operating the KAMIQ automatic transmission is actually very simple: Before starting, press the brake to confirm the P gear, turn the key to power on, wait for the dashboard to light up, and then shift to D gear. Release the brake and the vehicle will move slowly; step on the accelerator to go. For short red lights, just press the brake without shifting to N gear; if it exceeds half a minute, it is recommended to shift to N gear and pull the handbrake to protect the transmission. When reversing, always come to a complete stop before shifting to R gear. To accelerate for overtaking, press the S button, and the word SPORT will appear on the dashboard, making the transmission respond faster. In the city, don’t use the manual paddle shifters too frequently; those are for mountain roads. Remember to tighten the handbrake before returning to P gear when parking, otherwise the locking mechanism will be under stress!
