How to open the trunk when the Sylphy runs out of battery?

When the vehicle is unlocked or when the electronic key is within the limited area, you can directly press the trunk switch upwards to open the trunk lid, and all doors will be unlocked simultaneously. Press the trunk opening button below the left side of the steering wheel for 2 seconds, and the trunk lid will pop up to a certain height. The trunk will also unlock when you directly press the unlock button.
When encountering a dead battery situation with the Nissan Sylphy, as someone who frequently works on cars, I've found that the trunk can still be opened: usually there's a small button on the key fob that releases the mechanical key, which can be inserted into the trunk lock and turned to open it; alternatively, look for a release lever inside the cabin, often located under the rear seats or along the edge of the trunk lid interior cover, pulling it will manually unlock the trunk. This design serves as a mechanical backup when electrical systems fail, functioning as reliably as door locks. Common causes of battery drain include leaving headlights on or prolonged parking leading to battery degradation. I recommend regularly checking battery voltage with a multimeter as a preventive measure. For safety, always perform these operations on flat ground with minimal traffic—never attempt on highways. Keeping a jump starter pack in the car for emergencies can save the hassle of finding someone to jump-start the battery. Simple maintenance like this saves both peace of mind and money while avoiding the risks of vehicle breakdowns.
