How to open the trunk of a Focus?

To open the trunk of a Focus, you can either press the key twice or use the trunk release button located in the multifunction button area on the left side of the steering wheel. I’ve driven my Focus for five years and know the trunk opening methods inside out. There’s a trunk button on the car key—just press and hold for two seconds until you hear a ‘click’ and it pops open. There’s also a physical button near the driver’s left leg, handy for opening the trunk at red lights during traffic jams. The key point is that the doors must be unlocked, or it won’t respond. Once when the key battery died, I used the mechanical key, inserted it into the tailgate lock, and turned it 90 degrees clockwise to open. Lastly, a reminder: if you’ve used the remote window feature, holding the trunk button on the key can also remotely close the windows—this little function is quite practical.
