How to Open the Trunk from Inside a Buick Regal?

Locate the emergency release loop on the trunk lid and pull it downward to open the trunk. Some models do not have an emergency release loop but are equipped with a round black cover. Use your fingernail to pry off the cover and flip the plastic tab inside to open the trunk.
I've driven the older Buick Regal, and opening the trunk from inside the car is actually quite simple. There's a plastic pull ring hidden on the side of the dashboard near the driver's seat, close to the door - you can easily reach it with your hand. Give it a firm downward tug, and you'll hear the trunk click unlocked. For newer models with electronic buttons, there's usually a trunk icon in the button cluster below the steering wheel's left side - just press and hold it for three seconds. Once when my friend's car lock malfunctioned, we found an emergency pull cord in the glove compartment as backup. For daily use, instead of fumbling for keys on the road to open the trunk, this method is much safer. Just remember not to yank the pull ring too hard - aged plastic parts can break easily.
