How to open the SRX trunk from the inside?

The button location varies depending on the manufacturer and car model, but it is generally located on the left side of the steering wheel or in the center console area. Press the button to open it. The most common way to open the trunk from outside is by using the remote key.
Once my SRX was accidentally locked in the trunk by my child, fortunately I knew about the emergency release. All Cadillac SRX models have a bright yellow pull handle installed on the inner side of the trunk lid, about ten centimeters above the latch. When I was trapped last time, I felt around in the dark and found this plastic pull handle particularly conspicuous - it can even be hooked with a fingernail. After grabbing it, pull firmly parallel toward the door direction until you hear the mechanical release click, then the lid pops open. Actually, U.S. regulations mandate that all vehicles manufactured after 2002 must have internal emergency releases. Remember to teach this life-saving mechanism to your family members, especially when children are in the car. Don't cover that area with items during normal use - it could save big trouble in real emergencies.
A while ago, my neighbor mentioned that the trunk of their SRX wouldn't open after being closed. I personally tried the internal release method: lying inside the trunk and looking up, near the tailgate lock mechanism, there's a palm-sized square cover on the plastic trim panel. Using the car key to gently pry from the bottom gap, the entire plastic cover comes off, revealing a metal pull rod inside. The key is to remember to pull it horizontally to the left, not downward. Women with smaller hands might need to exert a bit more effort. It's recommended to apply some lubricant during annual checks of this mechanism to prevent jamming, as this is an escape passage related to personal safety. Nowadays, newer models have simplified this to an externally exposed pull handle, while older models require this additional step.
